Le Domaine de Bois Chéri, located at La Flora in the Savanne district, sits atop a plateau where the ideal climatic conditions are beneficial to the Tea plantations. Offering superb views of the Southern coast, the place - which is the first Tea plantation of the island, dating back to 1892 - is a haven. It is with this in mind that the property is inviting friends and families to experience the rich history and operations of processing tea. Also, at the end of the visit, they can savour Lunch and taste one of the many variants of Tea produced there.

Details of Activity:

• A tour of the Domaine with a guide

• Learn about machines from the 19th century that were used to produce tea, Photos and many Documents providing detailed walkthroughs of the Tea variants

• Learn about the Tea Industry in Mauritius while walking in the Tea plantations and contemplating the vista of the Southern coast

• Visit to the Tea Museum (learn everything about the whole history of Tea in Mauritius)

• Visit of the Le Bois Chéri chalet (taste the different Tea variants and eat biscuits)

NOTES:

• In order to notice how the process of Tea-making is made, it is recommended to arrive early (to view the leaves picking process) i.e. BEFORE 10h30, as it is the time when all operations are already done

• Last entrance at the Domaine is at 16h00

• In winter, all operations are finished early

• Recommended to bring: Camera, Sport shoes, Mosquito repellent

• L'Usine de Thé is NOT fully operational on Sundays and Public Holidays

• However, the visit of Le Musée is possible on Sundays and Public Holidays
